Budgeat

Budgeat is a meal planning app that helps with planning your weekly spend and ordering groceries

Defining The Problem

Budgeat is a concept project that originated from the recognition of a gap in the realm of meal planning and budgeting applications. To create this innovative concept, I began by researching existing meal planning apps, as well as creating user surveys online that aimed to pinpoint common user challenges.

I used my survey research to create user personas, which helped to reveal an opportunity for a solution that integrated real-time grocery store prices with a user's shopping list. Budgeat helps users to create their weekly meal plans while confidently staying within their budget constraints. This unique approach ensures that users can not only select and organise their meals efficiently but also order their groceries for those meals with the assurance that it aligns with their budget.

Creating user surveys helped me stay on track with keeping the users needs front and centre.

Wireframing

I created wireframes to of a typical user flow through the app to test the initially viability of the idea. There will still a lot of changes to be made before reaching the final prototype, but the general idea of the app worked well and helped me to spot the opportunity to finalise the flow by connecting the shopping list to a chosen grocery store.

I used low fidelity wireframes to gain a better understanding of errors in the design.
